Our process

Mark’s horsemanship is well known and often horses are sent to Mark Grant Racing after others have unsuccessfully tried to break them.

To date, Mark has always managed to break and get even the trickiest individual riding away to a standard where he 'can' confidently return the horse back to its trainer. Bring able to back and ride every horse himself sets Mark apart from others in his field, and even though we have a fantastic team of riders, initially Mark backs every horse himself, so that he can ensure each horse is getting an education tailored to their indivdual needs.

Point-to Point

Mark's first runner in a point-to-point, a home bred from his parent's Tipperary stud farm, Lady Sally returned a winner.

Since then, he trains a small number of point-to-pointers every year, which are a combination of home brews, store horses clients send to be trained. Daniel Kyne, who has worked for Mark Grant Racing for over three years race rides our point-to-pointers, he knows the horses inside out before they run, riding and schooling them daily basis. This coupled with fantastic Lambourn training facilities and Mark's background and grounding in National Hunt Racing, provides a winning formula, as the team boast a very successful record from only a small number of horses in training.
